The Bakehouse in 2008

2008 saw the Bakehouse bring Shakespeare’s Globe to Galloway, host a spectacular range of poets: Libby Houston, Tony Bonning, Kenneth Steven, Elspeth Brown, J. B. Pick, Tom Leonard, Katrina Porteous, Hugh Bryden, Tessa Ransford and Hugh McMillan. We mounted Chrys Salt's production of Laughing in The Dark which transferred to an off-West End Theatre in London. We launched John Hudson’s stunning poetry collection The Pumpkin Lantern, and Chrys's own collection Greedy for Mulberries (both to have London launches in February 2009) not to mention two issues of Markings.
