First, may I apologise for no updates recently. I have recently had to get a new computer because the steam turbine on the other no longer worked. Being totally in the dark about how they work, I’m still trying to come to terms with the systems. So what’s happening?

DARTS: The team are doing well in their first season and one of our players, Andy Whale, currently heads the league for most wins. Yours truly also has a 100% record – played one, won one.

QUIZ & HIGH/LOW JACKPOT: Every other Wednesday – see the blackboards for details.

COMING EVENTS:

OCT 16th – 18th: “Cider? Folk an’ Ale! 2”

This will again be held in the Garage and we have got some fantastic music lined up. It’s not all folk music but a mix of the stuff that we all know and love. The Cider bar opens at 7pm each evening and 1pm on Sunday.

OCT 18th – NOV 1st: Raise the Titanic

Our last big charity event of the year starts on Sunday 18th Oct when we shall be trying to lift the equivalent weight of the SS Titanic in barrels of Titanic “Crispy Nail”. The event will be using a multi-gym in the lounge and will be much easier than last years event. Everybody can take part and lift as little or as much as they are able with the total amount lifted counting towards the overall target. All we ask is that you get sponsorship for each barrel you lift. More details and sponsor forms will be available from Sept 12th.

OCT 31st: Lymestone Brewery Trip

Leaving at 4.30pm we shall be traveling to Stone, near Stafford, for a 6pm visit to this new brewery. Price includes the tour, as much as you can drink, hot food and entry into a free raffle. If there is time we shall visit Titanic’s new pub in Stone and aim to be back for 10.30pm.

Ticket prices are £10 plus transport, and to reserve your limited place the £10 ticket price needs to be paid asap.

NOV 30th: Birmingham German Market

Our annual visit to Birmingham and the German Market is on Monday 30th November leaving at 1pm and returning at 9pm. Places need to be reserved and we are running a savings scheme for anyone who wishes. Max cost will be £10 per person depending on numbers.

Please see Rob or any of the Bar Staff to reserve the above!
