Waxwing
Bombycilla garrulus
Peterborough - 5 January 2004

It's a 'Waxwing Winter' and Peterborough, like many other places, plays hosts to these berry-gobbling crested gems.

Twelve birds took up residence in the car park of a retail in Peterborough. The birds perched high up in the bare twigs of the taller treees before swooping down to feast on the low berry-laden cotoneaster bushes between the parking lots.
