Carp Fishing

The St Lawrence River has long been famous with British fisherman for the prolific weights and numbers of Carp that can be caught.  Traditionally, Cornwall and Long Sault are the areas that are very popular with British Carp fisherman travelling to Ontario (about 1.5 hours drive from Seeley's Bay) but it is now hard to find a place on the bank.

However, further south on the St Lawrence, and only 25 minutes from The Treehouse is Caigers Resort www.caigers.com where last year Tony proudly caught them their first Carp (see picture). Our friends at Caigers are now in the process of setting themselves up as the next Carp fishing hotspot. They are currently baiting up, and their fishing guides are busy tracking down various spots where you can fish for Carp – places untouched by man or beast – unproven water – this could be your next Carp fishing challenge!

The Treehouse is actually situated on the banks of the Rideau Canal system, which is totally unproven for Carp. Always one for a challenge, Tony and his friends caught 3 x 20lb+ in one evening at Easter this year. We will report back as to how the Carp fishing is going on the Rideau after our next trip this Summer - let us know if you beat him!
