Christmas Eve 2007 Committee Bingo Christmas eve at the club saw the now traditional 'Committee Bingo' take place in the function room. This involved members of the committee and some of the members dressing up in the theme of the night. This year's theme was based on the fairground - the committee were dressed as clowns and there were hot dogs on sale. Winners of the bingo not only received the normal cash prize, but also had a chance to win one of the many special prizes on offer. These included electrical goods such as microwave ovens, kettles, vacuum cleaners, plus beers and spirits, as well as a couple of booby prizes. There was a star prize of a digital flat screen television. All the children who attended received a box of chocolates. The winners had to 'hook a duck' from the duck pond and the number on the duck determined their prize. In the event that two or more claims were received, the winners had to go on the 'wheel of fortune'. They had up to two spins of the wheel to score no more than 100 points and the highest score won the chance to 'hook a duck'.
There was also a 'car race' taking place during the bingo. All the bingo players were given a coloured card. When a claim was made, the car with that colour was advanced along the track. When the bingo finished, the car which had advanced the furthest was declared the winner and holders of that coloured card had a chance to win a further prize. At the end of the night, all those claimants who failed to get to hook a prize were given another chance on the wheel of fortune. Further prizes were on offer for these runners-up. Thanks once again go to Colin and Trevor for putting on such a great show and keeping everyone entertained. We hope that everyone who attended had an enjoyable evening and that they will be back next year. |
