Latest News1/11/2009 - From Monday 2nd November, members can enjoy a second reduction in the price of M&B Mild, following an 11p per pint reduction earlier in the year. Another 10p will be taken off the price of a pint of M&B, taking it to £1.77. Brew XI Bitter will also be available from Wednesday, at an introductory price of £1.80 a pint. 1/11/2009 - The Halloween Fancy Dress disco was well attended, with lots of children and adults dressing up for the occasion. More info... 18/10/2009 - Tickets for the CHRISTMAS RAFFLE will go on sale from 1st November. £1 a strip. Prizes include a 19" LCD TV, DVD recorder, Digital camera, CD MIcro system, Digital photo frame, Toaster, Kettle, plus Spirits & Chocolates. 15/10/2009 - Welcome to new members of the committee - Craig Hart, Roy Humphries and Sheila Egan are now all helping out with the bingo. 08/09/2009 - The club will be hosting a LINE-DANCING CLASS every Thursday from 15th October, in the Concert Room. Beginners, improvers and intermediates welcome. £3 a head. All types of music. LITTLE KAT replaces STACEY RICH. 22/08/2009 - Tonight's act (Julie Singleton) is unavailable and has been replaced by SEAN. 20/08/2009 - Congratulations to the bowls team, who won the Wednesday League and cup double this week. 16/08/2009 - The bowls team have reached the finals in two cup competitions, one of which is being played today. 11/08/2009 - There will be a family disco on SATURDAY 29TH AUGUST. 10/08/2009 - Thursday Karaoke will from now be hosted by KIRK. 06/07/2009 - There will be elections for President and Entertainment Secretary. These will be held Friday 10th July (7-9pm), Saturday 11th (12-2pm, 7-9pm) & Sunday 12th (11:30-1:30pm, 7-8pm). Please be prepared to show your membership card to vote. 20/06/2009 - Thursday Karaoke is now hosted by STEVE DAVIS. Why not come down and enjoy yourselves ? 29/05/2009 - There is now a moving LED sign in the lounge, which will list all forthcoming events, promotions and club news. Check it out to see who is performing at the club in the coming weeks. 19/05/2009 - Following discussions with our suppliers, we are now able to offer two of our major beer brands at discounted prices. From Wednesday 20th May, the price of Carling Lager will be reduced by 11p a pint and M&B Mild will go down by 10p a pint. These are not promotional offers and will remain in place indefinitely. Worthington's Bitter will also be on sale at a discounted rate. 14/05/2009 - The Carlsberg promotion will be one free pint every twelve from now on. Ansells Mild will remain at one free pint for every six purchased. 13/05/2009 - The Chess club collected trophies for the Leamington League Championship and Open Knockout Trophy. The Individual Lightning Cup and the Stanley Gibbins Trophy for the best overall performance were won by Phil Holt, while Richard Reynolds won the best game award. 10/05/2009 - Congratulations to the Football team, who clinched the Divisional title, with a dramatic 2-2 draw in the last match. 10/05/2009 - There will be another family disco on Saturday 23rd May. £2 adults, £1 children. The last two have gone very well, so we are hoping for another great night. 07/05/2009 - The Chess club have completed a grand slam of titles in the Leamington League, winning the League and Cup double in team events. Phil Holt has won both the annual Lightning Tournament and the Stanley Gibbins Trophy for best overall performance. 15/04/2009 - The Easter Parade disco was a great success and it expected that more discos will be arranged soon. Most of the children took part in the Easter Bonnet parade and the three best received a cash prize. All the children received an Easter egg. 27/03/2009 - Last night's Disco night with the Big 'S' Disco also included 4 games of psychic bingo and one standard bingo flyer. All monies were returned in prizes and these were very well received. We will be running bingo again at the next Thursday disco on 30th April. 09/03/2009 - Saturday's PRESIDENT'S NIGHT was well attended with a great show provided by ABBA FEVER in the concert room and SAMMI LOU in the lounge. Beer was £1.20 throughout the club and there was a late Bar. 02/02/2009 - CARLSBERG LAGER will be on sale from Friday this week, at an inflation-busting £2.00 a pint, plus a 'BUY SIX, GET ONE FREE' offer, not to be missed. 02/02/2009 - Karaoke competition. A questionnaire has been posted in the club to find out which format will be used for the competition. Please indicate if you are interested in taking part. 02/02/2009 - There will be a Membership promotion for February 2009. Encourage a friend to join and receive £5.00 worth of vouchers to use at the bar. Terms and conditions apply - see posters in the club for details. 02/02/2009 - The PRESIDENTS NIGHT is to be held on SATURDAY 7TH MARCH. There will be a great show in the concert room, an ABBA tribute night. Entry to the show is by ticket, £5.00 each, available from the Secretary's office. Beer will be £1.20 a pint throughout the club and there will be a 12.00 bar. Entertainment in the lounge from SAMMI LOU. MEMBERS ONLY, NO CHILDREN. 25/01/2009 - Poker nights have started on Tuesdays from 8:30pm. This is done with chips and is just for fun. Texas Hold'em is the game and there is already considerable interest in this regular event. 23/01/2009 - The club is looking to hold a Karaoke competition, starting in late February. More details soon. 01/01/2009 - Subscriptions are due by the end of January and will be taken at the following times from Wednesday 7th January. Wednesdays 7.00 - 9.00pm Rates remain at £10.00 full, £5.00 concessions. Any subscriptions paid after 31st January will incur a fine. Members may also purchase a 2009 CIU pass card for entry into other CIU clubs (Also require a CIU Associate card). Both of these cost £3.00.
