4/07/2008 - The club's next Ordinary General Meeting will take place on Sunday 6th July at 11:30am. Elections for officers and committee will take place in the foyer on Friday 11th (eve), Saturday 12th (lunch & eve) and Sunday 13th July (lunch & eve).

24/05/2008 - PRESIDENTS NIGHT has been booked for SATURDAY 28TH JUNE. Beer will be £1 a pint and there is a great show lined up for the concert room. 24/05/2008 - Tickets are still available for the Barry Steele ROY ORBISION/BEATLES Tribute show.

24/05/2008 - The car park barrier system has now been installed. Members can use their key fobs to open the entry barrier and the exit barrier lifts automatically.

25/04/2008 - Ansells Mild is now available for a trial period, priced at £1.60 a pint.

18/04/2008 - New rule books are now available reflecting the new rules on lady members. These are available on request from the Committee office.

13/04/2008 - Work on the car park resurfacing has now been completed. Barriers will be installed shortly to restrict access to members and guests. Swipe cards will be available to provide access, although door key fobs will also open the entry barrier.

13/04/2008 - Members of the committee attended the CIU annual conference last week. The main item of business in Blackpool was the proposed increase in the costs of Pass/Associate cards, which was defeated.

31/03/2008 - Work on resurfacing the car park has started and is expected to be completed by the end of the week. This much needed work will greatly improve the car parking facilities for members and guests. Access will be controlled by barriers and members will able to open these with their key fobs.

15/03/2008 - Tickets for the Roy Orbison/Beatles tribute are now on sale, £10.00 each.

9/03/2008 - The smoking shelter is now operational and is an impressive addition to the club's premises.

24/02/2008 - Saturday saw a great evening with the event in the Concert room a sell-out and a good crowd in the lounge and games room for the artiste downstairs.

23/02/2008 - The smoking shelter is almost complete and should be ready in the next week or so.

21/02/2008 - There are still a few tickets left for the UB40 tribute on Saturday 23rd February.

3/02/2008 - The new smoking canopy and balcony are well under construction and should be operational within weeks.

2/2/2008 - Memberships should now be paid up. Any members who have not paid their subs will now be considered 'lapsed' and will not be allowed in club, except to pay these. Lapsed members will be liable for a fine when paying overdue subscriptions.

26/1/2008 - Tickets for the UB40 tribute (JOHNNY2BAD) on Saturday 23rd February will be on sale from Sunday 27th January, costing £6.00 each. Payment is required on receipt of the tickets. Please see the Entertainments Manager Trevor Stubbins or Secretary John Middleham for tickets.

13/1/2008 - The club will be selling M&B Brew XI as an additional Bitter, starting from the middle of the coming week.

13/01/2008 - Subscriptions are now due and should be paid by end of January to avoid incurring a fine. Lady members under 58 years of age will become full members and will pay £10. Those 58 and over will pay £5 as before and become honorary members. Subs may be paid on Wednesdays 7.00-9.00pm, Saturdays & Sundays 12 noon - 2.00pm and 7.00-9.00pm.

17/10/2007 - Steve Biddle has reluctantly stood down as President but we wish him well for his forthcoming wedding. Richard Reynolds is now the club President.

2/08/2007 - Due to poor sales, the real ales that have been tried in the club will no longer be available.

31/7/2007 - Steve Biddle has taken over the role of club President following Terry Gibson's decision to stand down.

21/07/2007 - Wye Valley HPA has now been replaced with Wye Valley Bitter, a traditional English bitter beer at 3.7% ABV.

2/07/2007 - There will be an election for the post of President. This will take place on Friday 6th (eve), Saturday 7th (lunch & eve) and Sunday 8th July (lunch & eve).

1/07/2007 - The AGM passed a resolution to allow lady members to become full financial members. All lady members will become full members in January 2008.

9/06/2007 - Johnny 2 Bad tickets for the UB40 tribute show in September went on sale recently and sold out within hours. If you can't wait for the show or missed out, you can purchase their new album UNCOVERED from 1st July. This is based on the theme of UB40's Labour of Love albums. More news on their website.

17/05/2007 - Andy Cottom won the 2007 Individual Handicap Knockout Trophy for the Camco Trios League at Acocks Green Bowl. Colin presented him with the trophy during bingo on Wednesday. Andy also came third in the House Mens Handicap Championship on Sunday.

12/05/2007 - Karaoke night resumed from Thursday 10th May and this will again be a regular feature on Thursday evenings. More details...

29/4/2007 - The club will soon be stocking a traditional handpulled ale from Wye Valley Brewery. Please keep an eye out for this and give it a try. It is hoped that their Hereford Pale Ale (HPA) will prove a popular addition to the club's portfolio.

24/03/2007 - Club Secretary John Chubb will be retiring in May 2007. There will an evening at the club in John's honour on Saturday 14th April. The current club President, John Middleham, will take up the post of Secretary at this time.

20/02/2007 - The club will close on Saturday afternoons between 3:30 and 6pm from 3rd March 2007.

12/02/2007 - The club will be holding a karaoke competition on Thursdays for five weeks, starting on 22nd February. More...

2/2/2007 - Please note that if you have not paid your subs by January 31st, your key will not let you into the club and you will incur a fine when your subs are paid. Lapsed members will NOT be admitted to the club.

27/01/2007 - Please note that the club will close from 3:30pm and re-open at 7:00pm on PRESIDENTS NIGHT, Saturday 24th February.

16/1/2007 - In the concert room, there was a FUNDRAISING NIGHT in aid of Cheryl and her family, who sadly lost her son Christian recently. Thanks to everyone who contributed, especially Elaine who organised the raffles and fundraising, TONY O'DELL for the disco and BOOTLEG, both of these acts providing their services for free. A massive £1700 was raised on the night.
