About
Leicester...
Leicester is ideal for a family day out, with an excellent compact shopping centre, 2 big indoor precincts, a daily market, speciality arcades, etc., as well as loads of museums, a Space Science Centre, ancient Roman ruins, the unique "New Walk", parks, cafés, and lots of pubs. As a multi-cultural city, you can eat almost any cuisine you desire in Leicester!
Leicester is historically important, both culturally and musically, with a history going back to pre Roman times, the world's heaviest pre-Victorian Daniel Lambert came from here, as did the notorious "Elephant Man", and then there's other historical people like Lady Jane Grey and Thomas Cook! The excellent Leicester museums document all this and more!
