review...
The first successful and largely consistent release, the 2 cassette set THIRD introduced organ and synthesizer to the Vrije (Alto Stratus) instrumental roster, and saw the roots of the patent Alto Stratus sound emerging, but with many surprises like the sax and mad electronic driven "New Buildings Falling Down" or the abstractly jazzy "Void". There were also some embarrassing moments on the original release however, that are best left forgotten, hence the judicious pruning and remixing to condense all the best material onto a single CDR. We entitled a previous recompilation cassette "Alchemy", hence its use as the CD title.

The cover collage is based on "The Alchemist" 1558 by Pieter Bruegel the Elder.
