Poly 800 synthesizers.
More subtle and sequential is "The Dreamer", a more
reflective work that while being similar in structure to
"Neologisms" is very different in sounds. A lot more expressive
keyboard soloing here, meandering, intricate yet spacious. I’m reminded as
much here of Kevin O’Neill’s subtle textures as those of Klaus Schulze and
the like. This is one for late night peaceful listening that won’t send you
to sleep! David commented - ‘Late 1987 and 1988 have represented another
distinct style change for me. First off, I feel it is important for a good
musician to play a variety of styles. When I first started, I wanted to be
able to do both the harsh sounds as in "Red Shift #3", and the more
melodic keyboard-orientated style represented by "The Dreamer".
After years of effort, it’s coming together...
