material created spontaneously by Triax.
Recorded at Tachyon Studio, Knighton Fields Leicester, 20 August 2006.
A direct digital recording, with mix and collage by Alan Freeman, 21-30
Alan Freeman: guitar, guitar-synth, keyboards, samples,
laptop computer, violin, percussion, wind chimes, voice.
Steve Freeman: bass, voice, tapes, loops, turntable, prepared
sounds, analogue synths, acoustic CD, cymbal, hacksaw.
Dave Powell: hurdy-gurdy, violin, cello, flute, alto saxophone,
trumpet, tenor recorder, oboe, bells, etc.
With Triax becoming a mini-orchestra, this is full of contradictions and
unlikely instrumental collisions, with all attempts at musical definition
thrown out of the window. So, how about: baroque folk meets electronica
head-on, industrial meets classical, synth/meditation meets Tibetan rock at a
free jazz concert, Krautrock meets Aboriginal dreamtime? It's possibly all
and none of these!
the way, who out there can identify Steve's vocal tribute to Achim Reichel's
"Die Grüne Reise"? To know what I mean, you'll have to buy the CD -
First edition (quantity not specified) - released ?/12/2006.
