USED AUTO PARTS Underwood Car Breakers have been supplying guaranteed used parts to the local garage trade and general public for over half a century. Over the years we have built up an enviable reputation for supplying good quality used parts. We have regular customers from all over Scotland and have now begun selling nationally thru our ebay shop. All parts are tested where possible and if for example a late model low mileage car is too badly damaged to run the engine, the unit will be pulled from the car and checked for any obvious damage. It will then be stored and recorded in our computer system with the comment that it has not been tested. Any customer enquiring about this unit will then be told its history, mileage etc and can then make the informed choice as to whether they want to go ahead with this purchase. We don't just sell and see!
We have 1000`s of used parts on our shelves. We also strip parts on request. Using recycled car parts can save you a fortune compared with the manufacturers new price for the same part and its now easier and a more pleasant experience than in the old days to visit a Breakers Yard. If you choose us to dispose of your old car you will receive a waste transfer note detailing the date and time the car was uplifted. The WTN also has our name and address printed at the top so you will remember who lifted the vehicle. When the transporter arrives back at our yard the vehicle details, including your name and postal address are input into the computer and sent electronically to DVLA via secure internet link informing of the vehicles destruction. We are then able to print out a certificate of destruction (COD) which we post out to you. This is to be retained as it is official proof that the last registered keeper is no longer responsible for the vehicle.
This is for your protection and means you will never get a speeding ticket, parking penalty or tax disc related fine for a car uplifted by us.
CODs are a new regulation and we were one of the first companies in Scotland able to produce these certificates.
We uplift End of Life Vehicles (ELV's) with our lorry mounted crane and safely transport them to our recycling centre for de-pollution.
