Recommendation
At Videospec, we advise customers that you follow the recommendations from RNIB that "you get hands-on experience of using a video magnifier before making a purchase. To fully appreciate the features and differences between different makes, models and styles of video magnifier, it is a good idea to try out several products, however it is not generally necessary to research every available video magnifier."
Unfortunately Videospec's workshop is not accessible to the general public so we do not have our own showroom, however, to assist our customers to carry out this research we offer the following three methods:
1. Resource Centres
In the UK there are over 200 resource centres for the visually impaired, several of which are identified by a yellow dot on the map within the "Find a Resource Centre" drop-down menu. We apologise to people in Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, the Orkneys, Shetlands and the Channel Islands that you are not included on this map yet.
These Resource Centres range from large, well-equipped rooms which are open for several hours each day of the week, to small rooms open only a couple of hours on a specific day of the week. By clicking on a yellow dot on the map, you will then find details of that Resource Centre, and a link to get directions to that Resource Centre.
Over the last couple of years we have tried to visit all these Resource Centres, and identified which demonstration equipment is most suitable for that particular Resource Centre. Details of which Videospec equipment is at the Resource Centre can be found by clicking on the relevant yellow dot.
If your local Resource Centre does not have a Videospec product that you would like to try, then please contact us and we will arrange to loan the equipment to that Resource Centre so that you can get some hands-on experience.
NOTE TO RESOURCE CENTRES - If you find that any of details about your Resource Centre is inaccurate, or if you would like some of our products on loan, please call us on 01483-722273 so that we can rectify the situation as quickly as possible.
2. Exhibitions Although we are only a small company we try to attend as many exhibitions as possible. So that you are not disappointed that we are not at a particular exhibition, you can see the current list of forth-coming exhibitions that we will be attending by clicking the "Exhibition" drop-down menu" to the left, which is updated every Monday morning.
3. 14 Day Trial at home Although you might have got hands-on experience at a Resource Centre or at an exhibition, at Videospec we feel that the best form of hands-on experience is to use the product in the environment in which you will use it. Therefore, we allow people 14 days testing the product at home, in the office, at school, or out shopping to see if our product is actually the product they actually want. If you are not satisfied, then you can return it to us and we will refund you in full.
