Calis Beach is 20 minutes from the villa and has a 5km shingle beach with many bars and restaurants - you can also go to Fethiye from here using water taxis. Olu Deniz, Hisaronu and the Greek 'ghost town' of Kaya Koy are all a short distance from Fethiye. Olu Deniz is famous for its blue lagoon and sandy beaches and is the main centre for paragliding, you see them gliding off the mountain and landing on the beach. Hisaronu has a lively selection of night clubs, restaurants and tourist shops and Kaya Koy is worth visiting to see a preserved town left after the 'Troubles'. Patara Beach is 1 hour away with a 20km length of unspoilt sandy beach and Lycian tombs and ancient Roman ruins.

Fethiye is 17km from the villa and you can use the regular Dolmus minibuses or it is an easy drive taking about 20 minutes to the centre of a bustling port with lots to offer including modern supermarkets. In the harbour area you can walk past the boats or relax in the many bars and tea-rooms, in the old city there are shops offering quality leather goods, carpets and designer clothes. There are good restaurants of all types and there is an excellent food market near the harbour with meat and fish at very low prices. Fethiye is steeped in history and near the harbour you can see Lycian tombs cut out of the mountainside above the amphitheatre.
