The Oneness of God: There is only one God, though He may be called by many names. If God created us, then by definition He must be beyond our understanding.

The Oneness of Religion:  God has sent His Messengers at different times and places in human history. They are the founders of the major faiths - Moses, Buddha, Krishna, Christ, Muhammad, Zoroaster. Bahá'ís believe there is only actually one religion, the religion of God, and each of these apparently separate faiths takes us a step further forward. Their spiritual teachings are the same in essence, but they build on the previous Message to take us ever higher.

The Bahá'í Faith has teachings on all aspects of life, but its main purpose is to unite humanity. There are 3 core teachings:

The social teachings differ in each religion because of the varying needs of the times in which they were revealed. Bahá'ís believe that Bahá'u'lláh is the most recent Messenger of God, bringing teachings that are meant for this Age. There will be more of these Messengers in the future.

The Oneness of Mankind: The specific mission of Bahá'u'lláh is to bring unity, peace and justice to the world: "The earth is but one country and mankind its citizens."  This the first time in history that world unity is a practical possibility. There are many Bahá'í principles which work towards this goal:

The independent investigation of truth

The equality of women with men

The elimination of all prejudice

Universal compulsory education

The harmony of religion with science

Elimination of extremes of wealth and poverty

A spiritual basis to economic matters

A world government

A world language

A world peace conference
