Staines Folk and Blues Club is a small friendly club at which a wide range of acoustic music is encouraged. This ranges from traditional unaccompanied folk through contemporary folk to blues to almost anything else! Our philosophy is that if folk can sing or play it then it's folk music.
Most Mondays are singers nights which normally take a singaround format ie we sit around the room facing inwards and each performer sings or plays one song in turn. We welcome anyone who wants to have a go at performing no matter how good or bad you think you are and, of course, we also welcome people who do not wish to perform but just want to be entertained.
Approximately once a month we have a guest night where a booked artist or group provides most of the evening's entertainment. Floor singers are still welcome but be sure to arrive early on such nights if you wish to ensure that you get a chance to perform.
Our folk club is one of a number of local clubs that are doing their bit to ensure that live music is accessible to all.
