HARRY BRUFORD:

Harry Bruford has been given a Community Enhancement award by the North Norfolk District Council. This was granted in recognition of his achievements in making a real difference in Bodham and the presentation took place on Wednesday, 22nd April in the Council Offices. The award is fully deserved and we congratulate Harry. We also take this opportunity to thank him for all his hard work in the Village.

LENT BOXES:

A sum of £41.00 was raised through the Lent boxes and sent to help the Norwich Diocese project to provide a school for street children in Peru. WELL DONE to the Young Seekers who raised £17.16 of this sum in their "smarty" tubes.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - 20th APRIL:

It was disappointing that only current members of the Parochial Church Council attended this Meeting. However, undeterred, all agreed to carry on their duties of caring for the Parish Church. Mary and Brenda continue as Churchwardens; Ann Digby and Sid Sturgess as Secretary and Treasurer respectively. Rev. Philip thanked everyone for their continuing support especially to Brenda and Peter for their ministry with the Young Seekers.

The Church finances are currently in a comfortable position but with ever-increasing costs for utilities, maintenance, etc, we cannot sit back and rest. If anyone has any new fund-raising ideas we would be pleased to hear from them. Procedures are taking place, albeit slowly, regarding the Tower Screen and the new Vestry area in the tower base.

CHRISTIAN AID WALK:

Brenda, Peter and Rose walked for Christian Aid on Sunday 3rd May. They were joined briefly by a fox and were heralded by a cuckoo. The walk raised over £125 for Christian Aid. If you would like to subscribe to this event, please contact Peter Alexander.

YOUNG SEEKERS:

The Young Seekers will meet twice during June, on the 10th and 17th, at 6pm till 7pm. Both of these meetings will take place in the Village Hall.

BODHAM HOUSE GROUP:

The House Group will meet this month on Thursday, 11th at 2pm at Quietways, Lower Bodham. All are welcome.
