The Eucharist is celebrated in Church each Thursday at 10am. ANNUAL CHURCH MEETING: At the meeting, Mr. Alan
Boardman and Mrs Lin Wright were re-elected
Churchwardens. As the post of Treasurer is still vacant, Mr. Boardman agreed
to carry on as acting Treasurer. Mrs Moya Myerscough was elected
onto the PCC together with Mrs Jean Beales, Mrs Margaret Boardman
and the Revd. Frank Clarke. It was sad that yet
again there were no members of the congregation present, (one person having
sent their apologies), to hear what the P.C.C. has been doing over the past
year on their behalf and to give their support to the newly elected
Churchwardens and PCC. POPPY QUILTER'S EXHIBITION: The weather for this Bank
Holiday Weekend was lovely and could be seen by the numbers of people coming
into Church to have a look at the wonderful array of patchwork; some new,
some very modern, some traditional and some so old they were classed as
antique. The Village Hall was all a buzz as refreshments were served and the
craft stall did a roaring trade, with peals of laughter or groans of despair
emanating from the Tombola stall as tickets gave up
prizes or absolutely nothing. Many thanks to the Poppy Quilter's for asking
to display their beautiful work and to everyone who worked so hard in both
Church and Village Hall. The final figure for the weekend is not yet to hand,
but will be displayed in Church as soon as it is available. CRAFT, TEA AND TALK: The next meeting will be
on Monday 1st June, 2:30pm in Church. FROM THE REGISTERS: Holy Baptism 19th April - Thomas Richard Shipman. We pray for God's
blessing on Thomas, his family and God-parents. |
