This very well figured burr walnut longcase clock was made circa 1740 by Joseph Duke of London. The case is very finely made with herringbone stringing and detailed fret-work to the arch panels of the hood. The sides of the trunk which are crossbanded, are also well figured
The eight day rack striking movement has a strike silent lever in the arch.
Overall this is a very nicely proportioned clock, standing at seven feet six inches.
