An 18th century oak longcase clock with reeded quarter columns to the trunk and a break-arched pediment to the hood with dentile cornice below. The 8 day movement has a brass dial with moonphase which unusually depicts a volcanic eruption and a sailing ship. The dial is signed and numbered (No. 232) by Geo. Goodall Abberford. Goodall was one of the very few makers to use a numberuing system on his clocks. This clock was made circa 1770 and stands at 7’ 2” in height.
