This fine miniature bracket clock by William Johnson is of a very fine quality with great attention to detail. The substantial movement is beautifully finished and has crisply turned pillars. The superbly engraved dial has its original mercurial gilding. Above the twelve o’clock there is a strike silent lever which is revealed on opening the door. The hands are remarkably finely cut. The well proportioned mahogany case with carved decoration is surmounted with a handle in the form of two sea serpents, this again has its original gilding. William Johnson is recorded 1825-40, this clock was made circa 1830.
Height 10.5” (to the top of the handle).
Price Band £10,001 - £15,000 It should be noted that miniature clocks of this calibre rarely come onto the market.
