The earliest books on acupuncture were written over two thousand years ago and much of the original text is relevant even for today's modern stressful lifestyles. Much has been added and learnt since those original books so that today, world-wide, there are over three million practitioners.
Although often described as a means of pain relief, it is in fact used to treat people with a wide range of conditions. The diagnosis & treatment is focused on the individual, their constitution as well as their symptoms.
By using sterilized, disposable needles into predetermined points on the body's meridian (Qi, energy lines) system, the practitioner can alleviate a number of conditions by stimulating the body’s own Healing response and help to restore its natural balance
