A friendly family owned restaurant and public house, The Hero of Aliwal is named after Whittlesey's most famous son, Sir Harry Smith.  In an idyllic location close to the river, The Hero hosts everything from The Straw Bear or petanque, wedding parties or quizzes, to live music or a quiet game of dominoes.

VILLARADIOSA, Produce of Italy. This wine has a super vibrant colour with fresh ripe cherry friuts, The wine is soft & light to medium bodied with boiled sweet charactors £9.95.  

RIVERVALE AUSTRALIAN. This dry red wine are blended from grapes grown in the Premier Vineyards of south Australia!s Murrary Valley and are renouned for the full flavour the regions climate and soils produce. This red wine has a full flavour of rich and spicy cherry friut. £10.00

White Wines

ECHO FALLS, Californian Crisp & Friuty white wine with zesty notes of citrus and ripe tropical friuts. £9.50.  

LEBFRAUMILCH 2004. Ruginhessen Germany, an easy drinking medium wine subtle friut and floral charactors. £9.50
