Parish Councillors have made a personal voluntary decision to "care" for the Parish by regularly meeting with colleagues in a formal arena. With their local knowledge of the area in which they live and their own often wide ranging expertise they examine, discuss and make decisions to benefit the community in areas such as local finance, planning applications, footpaths, bridle/by-ways, highways etc. and a myriad of items that arrive by post to the centre of the Council - The Clerk.
The task does not stop there. Many Councillors have particular responsibilities in certain areas, especially if they have a particular expertise, or are a "link" with other agencies in or near the Parish e.g. The Pewsey Area Community Trust, The Pewsey Community Planning Partnership, Partnership Working with Kennet District Council, Wiltshire County Council and other public organisations. This means many more meetings have to be attended with the community in mind. The notes of the meeting are taken to Council leading to further discussion.
A list of telephone numbers was published in the June Newsletter edition or obtainable from the Clerk.
You see, the Parish Council tries to assist and does pretty well but cannot know about your feelings unless you express them. You have an important part to play. DO YOU? Telephone; 07796 136423 to make an appointment with the Clerk.
