- To promote the growth of our member's gardening, horticultural and plantsman skills through practical gardening activities or workshops and swapping plants, seeds, ideas & know-how .
- Encourage environmentally friendly gardening and the preservation and promotion of wildlife habitats in our gardens and village.
- To assist those in the village less able to care for their gardens or our fellow members when they need some extra help with garden projects by adopting a 'many hands make light work' approach.
- Autumn & Spring Plant & seed swap shops
- Help out with keeping the Village hall baskets & tubs planted and cared for
- Run the plant stall at the Wilcot Village Fete (next one June 4th 2005) and make it the best plant stall in the Pewsey Vale.
- Get together and help out when a member wants to dig a new pond, do funny walks levelling an area for a new lawn, shift a pile of topsoil or some other 'daunting when doing it on your own' project. (Rather like the 'barn raising' days of old - lets turn a big task into a party and have some fun)
- Winter social evenings with a gardening flavour - eg quiz/ 'how to...'/advice workshops/
- Get inspiration from Summer garden visits
- Make the most of group discounts for seeds etc.
- Share gardening books, magazines etc.
- Share large (probably only used once or twice a year) tools like shredders and aerators
- Pots & baskets crèches to keep them happy & watered while you are away
- Organise the Wilcot Open Gardens days (next one in 2006)
