What's on Porthleven

The Cornish flag of St. Piran, representing a cross of tin on rock. St. Piran is the patron saint of tin miners and of Cornwall. His day -March 5th - is celebrated throughout the county with the focus on a service and procession to the site of his church at Perranporth sands

20th Helston "beating of the Bounds" Walk the boundary's of Helston. The ancient ritual of Beating the Bounds is one that has been in existence since the Second Charter of Queen Elizabeth in 1585. 17th St Michael's Way Charity Walk MUST BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE - 12 miles or shorter 6 mile option. Mounts Bar Rotary Club are calling people to participate in the event to raise money for local charties . It is also hoped to establish this as an annual walk. St Michael's Way - from Lelant Church to Mounts Bay incorporating 2 of the most beautiful bays in the world. This route was walked by the pilgrims from Ireland & Wales en-route to Santiago de Compostela in Spain, who wished to avoid the treacherous sea-journey around Lands End.
