Wokingham District Mencap set up a 'Carers' Group' in June 2003 supporting those who care for someone with a Learning Disability. The Group has gone from strength to strength and now meets monthly alternating between a coffee morning and a sandwich lunch. The group offers useful peer support for carers to share their experiences and make their concerns known to the Society.

We also arrange outings and have enjoyed theatre trips and meetings in a local pub. We also have specialist presentations on a variety of topics. Please check our diary pages for more details.

The Development Manager is also the lead for the Carers Work Group of the Learning Disability Partnership Board, ensuring Carers' have a voice in the local community.
