Wokingham District Mencap Leisure Plus Project Wokingham District Mencap are please to announce their success in attracting over £125,000 from the Big Lottery Fund. The grant is to be used to run a new initiative called the Leisure Plus Project. The project will train volunteers to support people with learning disabilities (aged 16+) to access a wider range of social activities. There will be a new member of staff to co-ordinate the project who will also identify social and leisure activities in the local community and help support those groups to include people with learning disabilities. There will be regular social events for the venture and the members will be involved in the development of this exciting service.
